Let Me Hear It

OK...so I'm not the most tech-savy guy in the world...this blog is a new thing for me. My wife runs ours for us... So what do you think of the blog? Is a blog the right format for our group, or should we try to use facebook or myspace or some other format? What content would you like to see on this site? What will make you want to check it from time to time? Your opinion counts...let me hear it.

New Schedule For Spin 180

I'm thinking it is time that we change the way that we spend our time together. Coming up in November, the youth group will begin a new schedule that will try to better meet the needs of the students involved. The night will look something like this:
  • 6:00 – 7:00PM The Junior High(grades 6-8) meets in the Spin 180 Room.
  • 7:00 – 7:30PM Optional Worship time for grades 6-12.
  • 7:30 – 8:30PM The Senior High(grades 9-12) meets in the Spin 180 Room.

This format solves several issues that we have met in the past.

  • It provides more opportunities for age-specific learning.
  • It solves problems with lack of adequate space that we have had in the past.
  • It includes a time when you can choose if you want to be involved. Worship has long been an important part of our time together. But the worship of God is never something that someone can be forced to do. Worship is a response out of thanksgiving to God; its something that is hard to express when someone/a group is making you do it. So if you want to be in worship...you'll come to worship.
  • It allows some of the Senior High more time to arrive after participating in athletics following school.
  • It allows the Junior High students to end their program at the same time as the Life Club program so that parents can pick up their children at the same time if they have children in both activities.
  • It allows the youth ministry program to grow.

If you have feedback...let me hear it.

Welcome to the Site

This is an experiment to see what it will look like for us to engage in on-line discussion as a youth group. There will be discussions surrounding music, family, school, faith and friends. We want to talk life with each other. Let's do it in a way that helps each other grow - words of life...not words of death!
